The PJCC offers a wide variety of specialty fitness classes. Most group exercise classes in the Health & Fitness Complex are complimentary with Center Membership, with the exception of Specialty Series or Master Classes, for which there is a fee, indicated with a ($).

A Postoperative Workout for Breast Cancer Survivors
The PJCC is proud to offer The Pink Ribbon Program, a postoperative workout, open to all breast cancer survivors whether surgery was eight weeks or 20 years ago, designed to enhance recovery for breast cancer patients.
Bollywood Dance Series
Monsoon Dance Company presents this specialty series of non-stop fun and movement accompanied with energetic music.Each class in this series will encompass a warm-up and cardiovascular section filled with Bollywood choreography and music, core conditioning, a cool down and stretching period. Friday Night Knockout!
This empowering 75-minute workout allows you to unleash your inner warrior, burn calories and sweat! The class focuses on upper/lower body and core conditioning through boxing drills to enhance your technique and agility. Boxing gloves are required for this class.
Med Ball Drills
HITT (High Intensity Team Training)
Join Chris Luera as he uses a variety of movement patterns including running, jumping, strength and endurance work, core training, balance and agility challenges to get you in the best shape of your life. You will never know what to expect from him; he will keep you interested and motivated.
Join this Three-week workshop to learn the basics of juggling. It is suggested that you attend all three in order to learn optimally but not required, you may pay for a drop-in. Be the next one at a party to juggle and get the smiles from all your fellow attendees. Registration Suggested.
Metabolic Makeover is a three part series. Although all three sessions are recommended, one doesn't have to attend all three to attain enough information to make improvements.
Three Part Series
Part One: Introduction
Metabolism 101 - the instructor will cover what metabolism means, causes sluggish metabolism, and tips on how to Improve it. This will be followed by an 80-minute Vinyasa practice.
Part Two: Nutritional Therapy
Boost Your Diet- the instructor will cover the do's and don'ts of a healthy diet as well as help you to create your own sample 3-day meal plan. The second half of this workshop will be a Yin Yoga practice.
Part Three: Serenity
Calm Your Nervous System: the instructor will cover tips on how to reduce stress as well as teach simple pranayama and meditation techniques that can be done anytime, anywhere to help calm the mind, body and soul. This workshop will close with a Restorative Yoga session.
Sacred Dance Circles for Women
Free your mind, body, heart and spirit through movement, music, and free-style dance to deepen your spiritual practice among a community of women. This monthly workshop opens with Jewish mystical teachings, followed by gently guided movement explorations and time for free-style dance. Integrate your experience with art, writing or rest. No previous experience with dance or Judaism is required. Space is limited; pre-registration strongly recommended.
Instructor: Julie Emden directs the Embodied Learning Initiative at Jewish LearningWorks in San Francisco. She is a graduate of teaching certification programs in Dance Midrash from the Elat Chayyim Center for Jewish Spirituality and in Movement-based Expressive Arts Education and Therapy from Tamalpa Institute.
The Embodied Jewish Learning Initiative is a program of Jewish LearningWorks, with support from the Joan and Robert Sinton Philanthropic Fund and The Opaline Fund of the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment, Barbara and Christopher Wilson, Richard and Patricia Gibbs, and Paul and Sheri Robbins.

Summer Fitness Jam
Come dance with us! One and a half hours of high energy, expertly choreographed dance fitness coming at you during this free community wide event held at the PJCC. Sweat with some of the best instructors in the area as they lead you through different dance formats (for example: Zumba, U-Jam Fitness and Bollywood) and help you celebrate your own fitness and the end of the summer.
Light snacks will be served.
Women on Weights - W.O.W.
Women on Weights is a small group strength training program designed specifically to teach women the basic fundamentals of strength training and its benefits. This results oriented program focuses on building muscular strength and endurance by using weight room machines and free weights, outdoor cross training, and variety of other workouts to keep you motivated, energized, and excited. This course will teach you how basic core training, strength training, circuit training, and flexibility training apply to a woman's body and physiology, which will help you reach your general fitness and weight loss goals. This intensive one-hour program meets at various times durning the week and is limited to 3 - 6 participants. If you enjoy the energy and dynamics of working in a small group, then Women on Weights is for you.
