Celebrate Israel's 66th birthday at the PJCC! Join us for a free community-wide Yom Ha'Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) festival to celebrate Israel's 66th birthday! Experience Israeli life, culture, and spirit with fun activities for all ages, including musical presentations by Israeli and local performers, Israeli dancing, storytelling and games for children, wine-tasting and educational programs for adults, and more!

Rhythms of the Jewish Calendar

Movement & Dance Workshop for Women
Join other women to explore Jewish mystical teachings through movement, music, free-style dance, art and journaling to deepen your spiritual practice in community. The workshop opens with teachings related to the Jewish calendar, then focuses on gently guided movement explorations. Options for drawing, journaling or resting to integrate the experience are provided. No previous experience with dance or Judaism is required. Registration suggested.
Instructor: Julie Emden directs the Embodied Learning Initiative at Jewish LearningWorks in San Francisco. She is a graduate of teaching certification programs in Dance Midrash from the Elat Chayyim Center for Jewish Spirituality and in Movement-based Expressive Arts Education and Therapy from Tamalpa Institute.

An Evening of Sacred Hebrew Chant

All are invited to enjoy an evening of sacred musical call-and-response chanting featuring the Beit Ayin Band (a local group specializing in Hebrew chant). Take part in this uplifting experience that brings clarity to the mind and expansiveness to the heart. No Hebrew knowledge required. Registration Suggested.
