Get Up & Go: Mark Levy Presents a Special Passover Program
Have you ever heard the Four Questions chanted in Yiddish or Ladino? Or Chad Gadya, Echad Mi Yodea, Adir Hu? These are the traditional songs of Pesach, sung in Hebrew around the Seder table each and every year. Each year that passes, we lose more of the native born speakers and singers of Europe who remember singing these and other parts of the Seder in the languages and melodies of their ancestors. Mark Levy has been singing these Yiddish and Ladino versions at his Seders for many years, and now has put together a program for all to hear, remember, and enjoy.
Get Up & Go: Mary Spalding Makes Steel Drum Magic
Listening to the beat of the steel drum can transport you to the magic of a Caribbean island. Drummer Mary Spalding has performed with Steel Jam - a one to five-member steel drum ensemble that she founded in 1994 - for the past 28 years in the US and Trinidad. Mary will play and talk about the history, beauty, and versatility of this wonderful instrument, the Caribbean steel drum.
Get Up & Go: Matt Bacon, Master of Spanish & Flamenco Guitar
Matt brings a diverse blend of Spanish classical and flamenco guitar music ranging from soft lyricism to fiery dance-influenced pieces. A Top Prize winner at the Texas National Music Festival, Matt will also talk about the composers and his instrument. Registration Required.

Get Up & Go: Seven Sassy Gals On A Sentimental Journey

Get Up & Go: Violin and Piano Duets
Coming from an international background of Romania and Japan, Adrian Borcea (piano) and Eri Ishigaki (violin), have been entertaining audiences with their combined and individual talents since they both studied in the Bay Area for their advanced music degrees. They will offer music by Mozart, Elgar, Bach, Debussy and Faure. Come and be delighted.
