Join David Nigel in his presentation about the famous Jews of San Francisco beginning in the 1840s to the current time.
He will focus on Levi Strauss, Jacob Davis, Gustave and Solomon Gump, Adolph Sutro, Sigmund Steinhart, Anthony Zellerbach,
Mortimer Fleishhacker, Joseph Strauss, Stephen Breyer, Swig Family, Jef Raskin, Dianne Feinstein, Bernard Osher, and Jack Anderson.
David Nigel was born in Harbin, Manchuria and he lived in Seattle, Manila, San Franciso and San Bruno. He is a teacher, coach, educator and is passionate about Holocaust Studies, Philosophy, Ethics, and basketball. David was one of four persons entered into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Northern California. His lifelong dedication to the California Schoolmasters Club is one of his most precious prides of his 51 membership and service. David is an Honorary Life Member and former president of the California Association of Park and Recreation. For the past thirteen years, David co-facilitates a weekly news and current events discussion group at the PJCC, entitled “Let’s Talk About It.” |
