Our PJCC is proud to announce the appointment of Jordan Shenker as the JCC’s next Chief Executive Officer.
Jordan brings an impressive career of national JCC experience and expertise leading organizations across the country and contributing as an executive with the Jewish Community Center Association (JCCA). He will join our PJCC family in early February 2022.
We look forward to welcoming Jordan and introducing him to our community upon his arrival early next year. In the meantime, we’d like to share some of Jordan’s expertise and experience that will benefit the PJCC:
Jordan has served the JCC world for more than 30 years. He is currently completing his role as CEO of one of the largest JCCs in the country – the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, in Tenafly, New Jersey – where he’s led for the past six years. Prior to New Jersey, Jordan helped guide the JCC movement as Senior Vice President of Community Services for JCCA in New York, overseeing consultation and executive placement for all 175 JCCs across the country.
Previously, Jordan served as CEO for the JCC in Richmond, Virginia, and contributed to JCC operations in Houston, Texas and in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Jordan is a much- sought-after speaker and educator. He has presented at regional and national conferences, and taught non-profit management, marketing, and professional development as a guest lecturer at the University of Richmond.
Jordan will relocate to the Bay Area with his wife Tracey, who served the Jewish community through her career as a synagogue executive director. Jordan and Tracey are the proud parents of three adult sons – Joshua 27 (chief program officer at the Tucson JCC), Matthew 25 (elementary school counselor), and Eli 21 (student at Arizona State University).
Jordan asked that we share his enthusiasm for coming to the Bay Area and serving our uniquely Jewish and diverse JCC community:
“Hello PJCC community! I am honored to join you and your extraordinary team of professional and lay leaders. The work ahead of us, to serve you in meaningful and enduring ways, will be some of the most exciting of my career.”
“The PJCC is a hub of community and connection in San Mateo County; the prospects for us to expand and amplify the J’s programs and impact are numerous. This is what calls me to the Bay Area – there is so much opportunity ahead for the PJCC. I can’t wait to arrive and join all of you, and the good work that distinguishes the Peninsula JCC.”
Until Jordan’s arrival next February, the PJCC will continue to be well looked after by Interim CEO/CFO Fred Weiner, who has capably led the organization since May 2021.
