SUMMARY:Get Up & Go/Beth El Senior Friendship Club: “ISLE OF HOPE\, ISLE OF TEARS”: IRISH JOURNEY TO ELLIS ISLAND
DESCRIPTION:Join Steve Gill\, and Robert Feiner for a journey back to Ellis Island in the year 1892 when young Annie Moore\, an Irish girl\,  becomes the first immigrant to land on Ellis Island.   Between 1892 and 1954 when Ellis Island closed\, over five million Irish immigrants came “Amerikay.”  Today\, forty million Americans claim Irish ancestry.  Here is the story of a young man who recalls his journey from Ireland to Amerikay.   Listen to popular Irish songs like: “Take You Home Again\, Kathleen”\, “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”\, “Danny Boy”\, “The Rose of Tralee”\, “How are Things in Glocca Morra?” and many others. Sing-along at the end and share the splendid Irish music in search of the Irish Soul.
