Thanks to their unshakable commitment and determination\, Sephardic women were at the center of the recovery process after expulsions and exiles\, and managed to not only keep the traditions and customs alive but thriving. \nIn this enlightening new program\, Professor Rivka Amado\, a Sephardic historian\, will explore the role of two groups of Sephardic women: those who fled Spain and Portugal after the expulsion and the conversa women who remained in the Iberian Peninsula and kept the Jewish faith in secret. Trans folks all over the world face discrimination simply by existing in systems that don’t provide support\, protections\, or affirming care. \nWe will be in the lobby writing handwritten notes for trans youth and adults\, letting them know they are seen\, supported\, and valid. \nWe will send these notes to Point of Pride\, who will discretely mail them alongside support packages to trans people with barriers in accessing healthcare. \nCome participate in a Mitzvah (good deed) Minute!

Trip highlights include visits to Kibbutz Be’eri\, Sderot\, and the Nova Festival site\, hands-on volunteering in agriculturalfields and to assist in assebling food donation packages\, a tour of Magen David Adom’s national blood center\, Shabbat in Jerusalem\, and more. We will hear stories of heroism and resilience\, gain an understanding of Israel’s current realities and challenges\, and support healing and rebuilding. \nThe Community Solidarity Mission is organized by Peninsula Sinai Congregation and will be led by Rabbi/Cantor Doron Shapira.
