Entries must be original works by the artist. Direct copies of copyrighted material will not be accepted including artwork by other artists, unauthorized photos, or published images.
Entries must be recent works completed within the last four years and not previously exhibited at the PJCC.
Eligible works include paintings, drawings, photographs, mixed media, tapestry/wall hangings, handcrafted jewelry, ceramic, glass, metal, wood, and fiber.
The final presenting form of two-dimensional works may not exceed 30” x 40” in either direction. Dimensions submitted on online Entry Form must include framing.
Three-dimensional works will be displayed in locked curio cabinets and therefore may not exceed the dimensions of 10”h x 10”w x 10”d.
A non-refundable administrative fee of $20 must accompany application. Please make checks payable to the PJCC. Only one application form allowed per artist. The fee goes directly towards printing costs and reception associated with this show.
Uploaded images must be in jpg format and a minimum 300 dpi with approx. 1500 pixels on the longest side, show only the artwork without mat or frame for two-dimensional entries. Those entering 3-dimensional works are permitted to include a second image of the work to demonstrate an alternate view of the piece.
Each jpg file should consist of the artist’s name (last name, first initial) followed by the title of the work, media and entry number, e.g:
- Brown, S – The Pond, photograph, #1.jpg
- Brown, S – Jupiter Sings, Mixed Media, #2.jpg
Entry forms, images and entry fee must be digitally uploaded no later than Monday, May 8, 2023. Please see the submission form for additional specifications.
Entries accepted for the show will be at the discretion of the PJCC Community Art Show Selection Committee, who will have complete discretion as to the number of works to be exhibited and may eliminate any entry at any stage in the judging process. Any accepted works delivered that differ from submitted images will be disqualified.
All works of art must be available for sale. The PJCC receives a 20% commission on all works sold. Please keep this in mind when pricing your entries, the selling price cannot be changed after entry. If a work is sold the artist will receive the dollar value listed on the entry form less the PJCC’s commission. The PJCC does not guarantee sales.
Artwork must remain on display until the end of the exhibition. No work may be withdrawn during the show even it was sold.
Submission of art images constitutes an agreement to exhibit any and all selected works. The PJCC will have permission to photograph or reproduce any and all works in the exhibit, together with the artist’s name and picture, for the purpose of publicity and reporting without compensation.
All two-dimensional works must be delivered to the PJCC framed and ready to hang. Artwork on paper should be properly matted and framed (frame less than 2” wide and plexiglass are recommended). Tapestry, wall hangings, and some other mixed-media entries do not require framing, but all works must arrive ready to hang.
Dimensions listed on entry form (see Eligibility) must include framing.
To avoid damage of wall surface, D-rings are recommended as holders for wiring (avoid saw-tooth, clamps or screw eyes).
For two-dimensional artworks, wire should not extend and be visible beyond the top edge.
It is suggested that artists carry their own insurance. Every reasonable care will be taken in handling work, but no responsibility will be assumed by the PJCC for any loss or damage incurred in transit. Items will be insured for 80% of the dollar value written on entry form by the PJCC under its “allrisk” wall-to-wall policy. Submission of work(s) constitutes agreement to terms and conditions in this application.
