Finding Freedom: Exploring the shoulder’s connection to body and mind
This workshop delves into the fascinating world of the shoulder, exploring its intricate connection to both our physical and emotional well-being.
What will we focus and cover in this workshop?
- Anatomy & Functionality
- Common Issues & Concerns (stiffness, pain, limited mobility).
- The emotional landscape of the shoulder (body mind connection, exploring emotional Baggage: the concept of “holding onto” emotional burdens and how this might affect our posture and movement, particularly in the shoulders).
- Yoga for Emotional Release: We’ll learn how specific yoga postures and breathwork can help release physical tension from the shoulder area.
- Movement Exploration: We’ll move through an accessible yoga sequence designed to:
- Enhance shoulder mobility and range of motion.
- Strengthen the surrounding muscles to support healthy shoulder function.
- Facilitate the release of tension and tightness in the shoulders.
- Integrate mindful breathing to connect movement with breath and promote emotional well-being.
