The PJCC welcomes and encourages open dialogue in our community. In order to keep this conversation positive and productive, we have placed the following guidelines in effect for posting on our social media pages (including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, the PJCC website, and Connections Magazine Online). Comments that violate these guidelines are subject to removal and/or the individual posting said remarks may be banned.
• General Commenting Policy: The PJCC appreciates feedback from our members and guests; we take each comment seriously, and forward all comments on to the appropriate parties as necessary. However, if for reasons of confidentiality or security, a comment is deemed more appropriate for a private conversation, we may remove the comment from public view and respond directly to the commenter via email or private messaging. If you have a comment that you would like to share, we always welcome you to email us at info@pjcc.org.
• Personal Attacks and Abuse: We appreciate lively debate and discussion among individuals with varying points of view. However, we will not allow or tolerate: rants; offensive and inflammatory statements towards individuals or organizations; or insensitive, harassing, or insulting comments related to gender, race, nationality, sexuality, religion, or ability.
• Defamation of Character: Defamatory posts, which harshly criticize or libel the reputation of individuals and organizations, will be removed. If you have a comment or concern regarding an individual affiliated with the PJCC, please contact the appropriate department directly or send a private message via social media to report or resolve the issue.
• Profanity and Obscenity: As an online extension of the PJCC’s community, our social media presence is intended to remain positive and welcoming to all. Therefore, our social media profiles have moderate-to-strong profanity filters in place. If, despite this filtering, we receive comments containing profanity, they may be removed depending on the context of the comment and the discretion of the moderators. Similarly, all posts containing obscenity (such as pornographic comments or imagery) will be removed.
• Criminality: We will delete posts that refer to or encourage criminal activity.
• Privacy: Posts that reveal personal and private information about individuals and organizations will be removed. Again, if you have a concern or comment regarding a PJCC member or staff, please contact us directly.
• Link Sharing, Self Promotion, and “Comment Spamming”: Links to external sources are permitted, but may be moderated for relevance. Moderators may also remove repetitive comments and posts, as well as those that promote or advertise products, services, political candidates, or causes, and we may ban users if the repetition persists.
