In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, come and learn “Breast Cancer Basics” from Erika Bell, PhD, Director of Cancer Information and Education at Bay Area Cancer Connections. The talk will include discussion of breast cancer risk factors, the biology of breast cancer, how breast cancer is diagnosed and treated, and resources for information and support.
Speaker: Erika Bell As Director of Education at Bay Area Cancer Connections (BACC), a community-based non-profit that supports people with breast or ovarian cancer, Erika provides health education, personalized research, and medical decision-making support to clients. She earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University and a doctorate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California, San Francisco.
