Five Reasons Why You Should Try BodyWork Sprint

829 Studios

We’re super excited to launch our new Sprint classes this month, starting with BodyWork Sprint on Mondays at 7:30 pm, led by Joyce. Want to know why it’s a good fit for anyone? Check out our top five reasons why this class is a great way to start off your week!

1. Increase Your Muscle Strength, Bone Mineral Density, and Metabolic Rate

It’s absolutely true: strength and endurance training offers health benefits for everyone. However, it’s especially imperative for women 30 and older, because you begin to lose muscle and bone mass after that age. During our BodyWork Sprint class, you’ll get a full-body workout with exercises specifically designed to tone and strengthen your muscles through slow and controlled movements that also help you develop and improve your endurance. As you improve your endurance, you can work out longer… meaning that you’ll burn more calories with each workout. Plus, as you increase your muscle mass, you’ll strengthen your metabolism—muscles at rest burn about three times as many calories as fat!

2. Learn & Receive Feedback On Your Form

New to strength and endurance training? A group ex class like this is a great place to start. Joyce will demonstrate every move, and she’ll provide cues that make it easy for you to follow along. Plus, she’ll carefully observe you (and everyone in the class) to ensure you’re developing movement patterns that maximize the effectiveness of each exercise and lessen the likelihood of strain or injury.

3. Get Moving & Get Motivated with the Music

Did you know: researchers have proven that music encourages you to work out harder, boosts your mood, and helps you maintain your pace as you work out. Plus, it’s plain fun—the energizing, empowering music we’ll play will make class feel like a party!

4. You Can’t Beat the Camaraderie!

Don’t like to go it alone? Group ex classes are filled with like-minded people who are there to work hard, improve their health, and have FUN! Plus, Joyce’s enthusiasm fills the room with inspiration, motivation, and all-around good vibes. All the smiles, laughter, and enthusiastic cheers are contagious.

5. Last But Not Least… It’s Easy to Fit Into Your Schedule

In this new sprint format class, you get a full workout in a 30-minute time period. (And believe us, we make the most of each of those minutes!) You’ll head home energized!

We do recommend warming up beforehand. Before class, hop on the treadmill for a ten-minute easy jog, or spend about the same amount of time on the elliptical (set to moderate resistance and low incline).
