Get Up & Go/Beth El Senior Friendship Club: Jewish Songwriters of Tin Pan Alley

Join singer-pianist Lauren Mayer as she takes a trip through the Tin Pan Alley era of popular songs (1920s-1940s), where Jewish songwriters found a welcoming, lucrative home and had a huge influence on American culture. Lauren includes some undiscovered gems and novelties, as well as audience favorites (and you might even feel like singing along!)
Lauren Mayer is a multi-faceted entertainer – a songwriter, singer-pianist, music director and humorist. She is a 5-time recipient of the San Francisco Cabaret Gold Award and a phi beta kappa graduate of Yale University, where she studied songwriting with Tony Award-winner Maury Yeston. Lauren has performed at numerous clubs, theaters, and organizations, including the Peninsula Jewish Community Center, Rhoda Goldman Plaza, Society Cabaret, Feinstein’s At The Niko, and many more.
