Climate Change in an Aging Society shows ways in which elderly people are high on the scale of victims of extreme weather events: wildfire, flood, drought, and heat. Why do people feel both helpless and hopeless? Why is it that public policy, at all levels, does not support resilience? How do we escape passivity and pessimism? It’s not too late and you’re not too old! There are specific actions that individuals – not government policy alone – can do to protect ourselves and safeguard future generations: (1) becoming a climate conscious consumer; (2) investment for a green retirement; and (3) citizen climate action.
