Swim Tip of the Month

New Season, New Mindset
Learning how to “reframe that one stinky thing that always happens in practice” is just one of the helpful tips we found in this article about becoming mentally tougher in the pool. Read about the four things you can do to overcome challenges and take your swimming to the next level in New Season, New Mindset.

Adult Swim Clinic

Tuesdays | 6:00 – 7:30 am | Heated outdoor pool with Coach Curt
The PJCC Adult Swim Clinic is a motivating great way for adults to stay in shape and improve their technical swimming skills! The program offers workouts and skill development for swimmers both beginning and advanced. The coaching will provide you with a progressively structured workout (including stroke drills) to help you achieve your personal goals to increase learning and developing all four competitive strokes; Butterfly, Back, Breast, and Freestyle. If open water training is part of your goals, the Triathlon coaching will help meet those needs and if competition is your goal, you can accomplish this with the comradery within a team of swimmers. As Dory said in Finding Nemo, “Just keep swimming!”

Deadlines and Registration Reminders

Registration Reminders

  • Our monthly fee is based off at least three scheduled classes per month. We will adjust your monthly payment if the number of scheduled classes falls below three due to holidays and/or facility closures.
  • Future same-month registrations will not be accepted after the 15th of that month.

Registration Made Easy!

Cancellations Due by the 15th
Cancellations must be made in writing by the 15th of the current month for a next-month cancellation. “In writing” means one of two ways:

  • Filling out a form in person at the Aquatics Office.
  • Sending an email clearly stating the month in which you would like to cancel. All emails must be sent to aquatics@pjcc.org.

No Class Dates in February
Monday, February 18 (President’s Day)

Missed Classes: We do not offer make up classes for missed classes. In some cases, we will honor a doctor’s note if the child was seen by a physician and make arrangements for a swim lesson credit.

Important Reminders

  • Always check in at the table on the pool deck.
  • Re-usable swim diapers are mandatory for any child not potty trained.
  • The whirlpool is NOT a swimming pool. Children may only use the whirlpool during hours before 8:00 pm during the week, and before 5:00 pm on the weekends. Horseplay is not allowed, and the whirlpool steps must remain accessible open so that people can enter and exit.
  • Don’t forget to pick up your progress report at the end of the month! This will assist you in understanding skills that are proficient versus skills that should be practiced in order to move to the next level.

Complimentary Swim Evaluations
Not sure of your class level? Our swim instructors will meet with your child in the water to assess their swim proficiency and place them in the appropriate level. To schedule your free evaluation, call our Aquatics Office today at 650.378.2782!
