This workshop will combine Ikebana with the practice of mindfulness, creating an open and relaxed space for creativity to flourish. At the heart of this approach is the oneness with nature that we all yearn for. You will see an Ikebana demonstration, participate in mindfulness exercises, and have time to design a seasonal arrangement to take home. Bring a favorite bowl for your arrangement (a soup bowl that fits in your two hands), which can then grace your Thanksgiving table. Instructor: Rachel Johnson has been practicing mindfulness through meditation and Shiatsu for many years. She is trained in the Sogetsu school of Ikebana based in Tokyo, Japan, and has exhibited at the Asian Art Museum, the de Young Museum, and the Oakland Museum of California. Registration required.
