Essentrics is an effective full body workout set to music, its goal is to create a balanced body such that the strength in your muscles doesn’t inhibit your movement and your mobility is enhanced by your strength. Essentrics dynamically combines strengthening and stretching to develop a strong and toned body as well as improved posture. The program is designed to support your ability of moving each joint and muscle freely and with full range of motion. It is important to respect the natural limitations of our musculoskeletal system, which left ignored can result in pain and injury.
Based on the theories of Canadian and professional ballet dancer Miranda Esmonde-White, this program uses a broad spectrum of techniques to accomplish its many objectives. Ms. Esmonde-White has a long-time PBS program where short demonstrations of Essentrics can be sampled.
